The conference is sponsored by the Association of Chinese Professionals in Geographic Information Systems Abroad (CPGIS), the China Data Center (CDC) at the University of Michigan, the Center for Environmental Information Technology and Analysis (CEITA) at Eastern Michigan University, and the Joint Laboratory for GeoInformation Science (JLGIS) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
The conference will focus on (1) the integration of geographical, environmental and socioeconomic information, (2) new and emerging developments in GIS technology and models in the social and natural sciences, and (3) applications of GIS in China and other regions of the world.
