Japanese Language Teaching and Instruction Technology
"The conference, hosted by the California Japanese Framework Project, will focus on the availability of database
and media resources, assessment resources, and methods for Japanese
language instruction. The aim of this conference is to provide an
overview of the state-of-the-art database, media, and assessment
resources available for Japanese language teachers and their
applications, discuss opportunities and problems, exchange ideas and
information on ongoing and planned activities, explore possibilities
and initiatives for international cooperations."

- On March 27 (Friday) the Library of Congress will have a program for AAS participants at the Mumford Room which includes
a roundtable on "LC Forging Ahead into the 21st Century", from 2 p.m. to
4:30 p.m. LC speakers are from the Asian Division, African/Asian
Acquisitions and Overseas Operations Division, Cataloging Policy and
Support Office, Law Library, and Photoduplication Service. They invite
everyone to visit the Asian Reading Room in the Jefferson Bldg., 8:30a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The daily tours of the Jefferson Bldg., from Monday-Saturday, are 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.
